Healed from Trauma
by Doh Mee Yuen

While at EH Residential School, I got a flashback of a bad fall at school when I was in Std 1. As my friend and I were running to the toilet, I fell and knocked the right side of my head against a pillar. It was such a hard knock that my head throbbed with pain throughout that day.
I remember crying all the way back to the classroom and my teacher asking me to lie down on the table. When this flashback repeated many times, I realized I had sustained a trauma and God was directing me to deal with it. During a small group session that afternoon, I received ministry and was surprised that I cried as I recalled the pain I had sustained in an incident that happened almost 40 years ago!
In the few months prior to the Residential School, I had been experiencing recurring ache at the back of my neck. Whenever it happened, I encountered difficulty positioning my neck when I lie down or when I read. However, on the very next day after the ministry, the right side of my neck felt “loosened” and to this day (which is more than month!), the pain has not recurred. I believe the neck ache was directly linked to the trauma of the fall and God delivered me from it through the ministry time. Praise God!
